To be awarded the MSc(Mgt) degree, a student must have:
- an average grade point of at least 3.5 for all completed MCs that constitute the MSc(Mgt) program
- achieved at least a Second Class Lower Division Honours degree status from his/her original faculty/school (or equivalent status for an exchange student).
All computations of CAP and average grade point are according to any prevailing regulations governing concurrent or dual-degree programs. Currently, modules taken for the MSc(Mgt) degree which do not form part of a student's undergraduate degree requirements will not be used to compute the student's undergraduate degree CAP, even if the student failed to complete the MSc(Mgt).
A student admitted from outside the School of Business who has completed the MSc(Mgt) program per item (1), as well as the degree program of his/her original faculty/school, but has not achieved at least a Second Class Lower Division Honours degree status from his/her original faculty/school, will be awarded, instead of the MSc(Mgt), a BBA/BBA(Honours) degree equivalent to that awarded by his/her original faculty/school. Thus, the substitute degree awarded might be:
- BBA with Third Class Honours
- BBA with Merit
- BBA
A student who had completed the MSc(Mgt) program but had not completed the degree program of his/her original faculty/school will not be awarded the BBA, BBA(Honours) or MSc(Mgt) degree.
A student who had left the MSc(Mgt) program will be awarded the degree from his/her original faculty/school upon satisfactory completion of all requirements.
For a student admitted from outside the School of Business who had completed the degree from his/her original faculty/school, but had left the MSc(Mgt) program or had not satisfied item (1) for the award of the MSc(Mgt) degree, some completed MCs in his/her MSc(Mgt) curriculum may be transferred to any dual-degree program involving the BBA(Honours) or the BBA, or to the Minor in Management or the Major in Management program, subject to any prevailing regulations governing such transfers. Any such transfers may depend on whether the modules concerned were actually taken from the Business School.
An MSc(Mgt) student's undergraduate degree will only be awarded together with the concurrent MSc(Mgt) degree, e.g. a student admitted to the MSc(Mgt) program during his/her final undergraduate semester will have to delay graduation from his/her undergraduate program.
