The Business School has various scholarships, bursaries and study awards, exclusively available to BBA students, to help finance their Bizad education. This is in addition to the various University scholarships and awards that are available to all NUS undergraduates (nus.edu/oam/scholarship and http://www.nus.edu.sg/registrar/sfau/UG/ug-scholar.html), all of which are no-strings-attached when funded by NUS, and many of which are all-expenses-paid.
NUS Scholarship application for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents is apart from admission application, as is application for the non-financial but exclusive University Scholars Programme (USP). International applicants will be considered and shortlisted for interviews through their application for admission to NUS; no separate scholarship application is required. The Business School's financial aids are likewise awarded to merited incoming students automatically without requiring a separate application, mostly after interviews. Applicants for admissions are very much encouraged to also apply for the NUS-level scholarships.
Further, NUS encourages enrolment in external joint/double degree programmes (JDPs/DDPs) by offering NUS JDP/DDP Awards. NUS also grants NUS SEP awards for some students going on Student Exchange Program. These awards are collectively called NUS Awards for Study Abroad (NASA), which are found among other scholarships, awards, grants and loans for facilitating overseas exposures.
Some NUS awards are reserved for students with specific profiles, e.g. LKY-STEP awards for graduates from polytechnics in Singapore.
BBA Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit while bursaries are awarded on the basis of financial needs. For those who have performed exceptionally well in their studies, there are also numerous book prizes and medals that await them. Business School study awards are also available to current students who performed well and had been active members of our collegiate community.
Likewise, NUS has scholarships and other aids for NUS undergraduates. From August 2007, many NUS-funded scholarships awarded to new students will cover tuition fees for the fifth year in dual-degree (bachelor + bachelor) and Concurrent (bachelor + master's) programmes.
The followings are financial assistance and prizes reserved for Business School undergraduates:
The Business School also administers at least 80 NUS Overseas Enrichment Programme Awards yearly for students going on field studies, summer programmes, internships, conferences, etc.
There are also external sources of financial assistance, such as those for the Indian community funded by Singapore Indian Education Trust, and for the Chinese Teochew community funded by Ngee Ann Kongsi. Some of those funds are for new as well as current students. Singapore Government also grants generous Singapore Scholarships to students from ASEAN countries.
From time to time, some departments within the Business School may employ full-time undergraduate students as Student Assistants to assist in the various initiatives or projects undertaken by the School. Thus, BBA students are encouraged to contact our BBA Career Services to register their intention to be employed as Student Assistants.
