An endowed gift is special in that it provides a permanent source of income for the gift purpose and it has a perpetual impact to the School. The principal of your endowed gift (i.e. your original gift amount) will be preserved. We will not use the principal amount but the investment returns from the principal to support your gift purpose.
In contrast, the entire sum of an expendable gift can be spent on the gift purpose, therefore the gift amount will eventually be exhausted.
