Giving Back to the Business School Community

oming to the NUS MBA was an important decision for all of us. Letting go of the comfort zone in our previous jobs and being students again was not easy. Having been through the rigorous programmes, in and outside of the classrooms, we all agree that the time spent at NUS MBA has been exciting and fruitful.

An important aspect for us in deciding to go for the MBA was the cost involved. Many of us have taken education loans and are paying heavy interest on them. We probably still have a small accounting notebook or a spreadsheet on the laptop to keep track of the cash outflows. And we have been trying very hard to make sure the expenses are kept within the budget. Don’t you wish we had more bursary or scholarship opportunities at the School? All said and done, we would graduate soon and so would YOU. Everything will be fine once we get back to the workplace. But the concern remains unaddressed – it will just get passed down to the future student batches. Do we have a choice to trigger a change? We certainly do!

The Commencement Class Giving is an annual programme that aims to raise bursary funds for our juniors. Last year, in the inaugural launch of this programme, we raised S$2,000 towards the undergraduate bursaries.

This year, we are launching our own MBA Commencement Class Giving 2008 and all our contributions will be channeled completely towards student bursaries for the MBA and IMBA programmes. That is certainly a welcome initiative!

We, as the graduating Class of 2008, can contribute towards this worthy cause which would help our deserving juniors in the years to come. Would you like to join us in making a contribution of $8, $20.08, or any greater amount towards this programme? Each one of us, as we join hands towards this great cause, can make a positive difference.

Thank you for your kind support. We wish you the very best in all your future endeavours. Stay connected!

With best wishes,
